TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY

“To live is to suffer; to survive is to find some meaning in the suffering.” – Friedrich Nietzsche

Autonomy and Empowerment

I am devoted to honoring your autonomy and freedom, recognizing you as the expert of your own life. My role is to walk alongside you as a trusted partner, supporting you in uncovering your individualized path to healing. I blend various evidence-based practices that nurture your unique strengths. My approach draws insights from your past experiences and unconscious patterns to understand their impact on the present, while considering how natural human instincts may also shape your thoughts and feelings. I thoughtfully use medications when they align with your needs.

Transparency and Trust

My virtual office is a space where you can let your guard down and share your truth without fear of judgment. By exploring the roots of your emotions and behaviors, I help you gain insights to move beyond maladaptive patterns. I hope to help you navigate life’s hardest moments with your natural resilience. Healing isn’t about “fixing” you; it’s about uncovering your strengths and using them to discover a life of self-compassion, peace, and purpose. Your experiences will be met with warmth and understanding. Any medication I offer is to bring positive change; and I strive to be transparent as possible through every step of your treatment. I value your feedback, which guides my prescribing methods, as I believe you should feel comfortable with any medications that I prescribe to you.

Respect and Dignity

I see mental health care as a collaborative, human-to-human endeavor. I believe physicians should move beyond overly prescriptive, paternalistic approaches, and recognize that solutions extend far beyond medications alone. I recognize the stigmas many clients face, which can discourage one from seeking help. My commitment is to be a steadfast advocate who treats clients with respect and humility. My office is a space where you can speak openly about challenges like substance use, trauma, or troubling thoughts. Your entire story deserves to be heard and respected, and I’m dedicated to ensuring it is. Regardless of your life circumstances, I see you as a person and firmly believe your voice matters just as much as anyone else’s, including my own.

A Dedicated Partner in Your Recovery

Ultimately, I strive to be approachable, transparent, and consistent in my support. Whether you’re navigating immediate challenges or pursuing long-term growth, I’m here to support you every step of the way. Life is unpredictable — I strive to be accessible by phone or message between sessions and do my best to accommodate urgent meetings when needed. If you’re ready to take the next step, I warmly invite you to reach out and begin our work together.
